My family used to celebrate Three Kings' Day (aka Epiphany or 12th Night) before they moved to the US. For them, December 25th was about Midnight Mass and dinner with family, not gift exchanges. The Three Kings bring gifts not Santa who, quite honestly, would pass out of heat exhaustion if he showed up in the Caribbean wearing all that wool and fur.
My son gets the best of both worlds: Christmas and Three Kings. Next year will be different however, I am going to embrace a more critical Santa who truly leaves coal in stockings and no gifts for naughty children, and the Kings will hopefully make up for the dissappointment 11 days later. Wish me luck!
